KYSOS ED Bridge Program Peer Support Specialists Participate in Community Events

Peer Support Specialists (PSS) from hospitals across the state were very active during National Recovery Month participating in multiple community events. PSS are an integral part of the Kentucky Statewide Opioid Stewardship (KYSOS) Emergency Departmnent (ED) Bridge Program.

Save A Life Day 2025 at Harrison Memorial Hospital, set a goal and surpassed it by training and handing out 48 boxes of Naloxone to community members equipping them with recognizing an opioid overdose and how to respond.

The Tiley Jo Neill Hope in Recovery Rally was held in Tompkinsville in honor of Neill who was a 17-year-old who lost her life from an overdose in June 2021. This was the 5th year for the event, and its mission is to bring community partners, education and awareness to Monroe County. The event also distributed Narcan, provided free HIV and Hep C testing along with many education materials.
