The Kentucky Statewide Opioid Stewardship (KYSOS) program attended the 2025 Kentucky Recovery Rally in Frankfort on September 5. The Rally was held on the north lawn of the state Capitol, and the KYSOS Emergency Department (ED) Bridge program was highlighted at this event. Several peer support specialists (PSS) were in attendance representing the 16 KY SOS ED Bridge programs.

KYSOS staff along with the PSS wore the KYSOS ED Bridge program tees, displaying the KYSOS logo and ED Bridge program on the front with “Peer Support Saves Lives” printed on the back of the tees. Rally attendees learned about the KYSOS ED Bridge program, the importance of PSS in the emergency department, and the collaboration of PSS with the ED medical team to treat and bridge patients to begin their recovery.

This event also allowed the KYSOS team to showcase the comprehensive opioid stewardship program, including the inpatient program, the outpatient primary care clinic program, and the ED Bridge Program.

KYSOS was honored to participate in this important statewide event again this year. If you would like KYSOS to attend your community event, please contact Emily Henderson, KYSOS Pharmacy Consultant (ehenderson@kyha.com).
